Courage To Lead Part 2

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: II Tim.2:15-16

More Scriptures: Jos.24:15, Gen.18:19, Jn.6:67

Yesterday, we discovered from God’s Word that courage remains the principal thing that every husband must pray for if he must make his family count for God in this perverted and ungodly world. Today, we want to see the source of courage that husbands require. In Ps.27:1, the Scriptures say the Lord is my light and salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? From this verse of Scripture, it is very clear that your strength and courage is not in your money, because it will fail you (Pro.11:4). It is not in your educational qualifications or mortal contacts. Your strength which is a product of your courage comes from God, whom you have obeyed to be married. Courage is the state of the heart and you need a strong heart to lead your wife and children in the way of the Lord. There are some husbands who are so afraid to command their flock to walk in the way of the Lord for fear of being seen as old school. These categories of husbands want to be seen to be relevant before men while losing the essence of why God made them heads of the family. God has given you a family for glory and not for you to sacrifice them on the altar of social relevance. However, for you to access God-kind of strength and courage, you must have a good knowledge of Him. How much you know about a place, person or thing will influence the level of confidence you will display. This is why the Scriptures say that they that do KNOW their God shall do exploits.  For you to do exploits as the leader in your home, you must having a deeper relationship with God and His works. And this you can do by giving steadfast, continuous, dedicated and diligent study to reading and meditating on the Word of God- the Bible (II Tim.2:15). The more you study the Bible which is the personality of God in written form, the more strength and courage you generate to provide purposeful leadership for your wife and children. Another thing that you must do is to trust God absolutely without having alternatives. This means total dependence on God to help you lead and chart a glorious course for your wife and children (Heb.11:2,6,33). This is why Jesus Christ, an example of how husbands should behave said, without me, you can do nothing. Also, the Scriptures say that all power belongs to God. Therefore, husbands, you could see that the power that generates courage and strength is only in God. When you connect with Him, your heart will not fail you; neither will satan, sin and the world have dominion over your flock. And you can say like Joshua said, AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD (Jos.24:15)

·         Father, grant me grace to give attention to the study of Your Word delightfully

·         Father, deliver me from ignorance and satanic excuses

·         Father, by the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, destroy every root of alternatives contesting Your place in my life.

I am a husband of power and strength; I will win over every negative influence working in the lives of my wife and children in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
