Secured Husbands Develop Others

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Matt.4:18-19

More Scriptures: 1Tim.6:4, 1Thess. 5:13, Pro.31:11

There is a drama series that I seldom watch. It is title The Otherside. It is Wale Adenuga’s production, a Nigerian producer. The husband was a teacher and the wife worked in a corporate organization and she was well paid. Infact, her salary was much more than what her husband earned. Unfortunately for her, her husband wasn’t comfortable with her rise in the organization where she worked. He did everything, including inviting his relations to compel his wife to resign. She eventually did resign. Sadly, their lives took a dip. Why would her husband decide to do what he did? The answer is what today’s topic wants to address. Only secure husbands will want to develop their wives and children to attain their full potential in life. In Matt.4:18-19, read what the Scripture says about your example of how a husband ought to behave. And Jesus walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, FOLLOW ME AND I WILL MAKE YOU fishers of men.

Now look at it this way, Peter and Andrew were unlearned people. They were ordinary people-fisher men. But Jesus challenged them with the commitment to make their lives better. He said to them, “Follow me and I will make you”. You indeed said to your wife, “follow me, I want to marry you”, and she did follow you. When you married your wife, you made love to her and planted your seed into her and she conceived and brought forth a child for you. Therefore your wife and children are your followers. And God expects you to develop them and not destroy them. When you develop your flock, you secure your future. When you develop your wife and children, you outlive your numerical calendar age-leaving behind a lasting legacy. However, you must fight one enemy and that is envy. Envy is a subtle enemy. It comes so unnoticed that if you are not sensitive in the Spirit, it would eat deep into your life and destroy your wife and children. In 1Tim.6:4, the Bible tells us that where there is envy, there is strife. You must be challenged if your wife and children are not doing well and be excited when they do well. Don’t be afraid if your flock succeed, because godly husband develops others.

·         Father, work through me to develop my flock unto great vessels.

FAITH CONFESSION

I will make the lives of my wife and children better because I am a good and godly husband through Jesus Christ. Amen.
