No Task Is Too Small

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Heb.12:1-3

More Scriptures: 1Cor.13:5, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29

Can you I ask you this sincere question as the head of your family and the spiritual leader over your wife and children? Well, this is the question. Is there any task too small for you to do or too big for you to do for your flock? Let me remark what I said sometime back, which has transformed my walk with God in the service of my sheep. If Jesus Christ stooped so low to wash His disciples’ feet, no husband has an excuse not to serve his wife and children. The life and Person of the Greatest husband ever, Jesus Christ has continued to challenge my life as a husband and an aspiring great and godly leader. His life motivates me to consider every task concerning my relationship with my wife and children very important-getting involved in their academics, knowing their social lives, and much more. Sometimes, I participate in the house chores, and also guide them.

As a husband, your life and conduct must be the best example for your flock to emulate. You are the Jesus Christ they have read about in their Bible. However, for you to value every task as important, you will need to be humble in your heart. Humility is your greatest defence against pride. It does not overestimate itself. One of the virtues that God doesn’t want you to have is pride. In 1Cor.13:5, the Scripture says, love does not behave itself unseemly…. You also need to engage the power of fasting and prayer for the enforcement of the very nature of Jesus Christ in you. It is the will of God that your will be like His Son, Jesus Christ, Who is the perfect reflection of how husbands are to behave (Heb.12:1-3). But there are many forces and adversaries working daily to make the nature of Christ in you impossible. This is why Apostle prayed for one of his followers, that Christ be formed in you. You also must be very careful the type of friends you hang out with. Because when you hang out with husbands who are not in tune with the nature of Jesus Christ, they will most likely influence you to act otherwise to your wife and children. Finally, you must meditate on the word of God and the nature of Jesus Christ. And as you take these steps in faith, you will become the greatest hero your wife and children will ever have.

·         Father, by Your Spirit, fill my heart with the spirit of humility.

·         Father, help me to be like Your Son, Jesus Christ, in all things to all people.

·         Father, deliver me from ungodly relationship and false estimation of myself.

I will give my life to serve my wife and children because I am walking to become a good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
