For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. The light of the body is the eye. If therefore thine be single, thy whole body shall be full of light (Matt.6:21-22)

In athletics, each athlete maintains his or her lane. An athlete will be disqualified if he or she crosses into another athlete’s lane. So, every athlete works very hard to be in their lane. That is the attitude God wants you to have as you lead your wife and children. As the head of the family, you must fight distractions. You must maintain focus. You must ensure that the actions and steps you take are leading you to the plan of God for your life as a good and godly husband. If you can maintain focus in giving your flock quality leadership, it will enhance the quality of your life and relationship with your flock. The principal reason why God called you to lead your wife and children is to bless them. This is the lane God wants you to maintain and sustain. This is what Laban did in Gen.31:55. Laban rose up early in the morning, kissed his children and blessed them. Abraham blessed Isaac and he became great. Isaac blessed Jacob and he became a giant in Israel. Every word that you speak has the power to make great impact in the lives of your flock.

As a husband, you carry the power to bless your children for a better tomorrow. You must do everything to stay focused on this goal. But for you to stay in your lane, you must exercise self-control. You must not compare. And you must keep in your view the prize that is set before you. Furthermore, you keep Jesus Christ in view by allowing Him to have His way in your life. When you make Jesus Christ the center of your life, He becomes the force that will make you to stay on course. Do all you can to remain within the lane God has put in place for you. It is your guarantee to become a good and godly husband.

·         Father, in the name of Jesus, deliver me from every plan of the enemy to sift me.

·         Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to maintain unwavering focus on my assignment as a husband.

·         Father, in the name of Jesus, honour the words of blessing that I pronounce on my flock.

I shall not be distracted by the forces of hell but remain steadfast in doing what is right because that is what makes me a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
