Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (Gal.5:1)
Today happens to be the last day in the year 2017. As the head of your family, there are so many questions that were not answered in the year. You lost some battles and you won some. You fell and other times you rose up from the ashes and moved on. In all of these, I need you to give God thanks for all that happened in the course of the year. At least, you are alive. And according to the word of Lord, a living dog is better than a dead lion.
It is very important that you stand fast in the liberty that God as procured for you when He died and rose for you. You must determine in your heart not to do those wrong things that you used to do. You must align your ways with what God wants you to do. You must enter a covenant walk with God. You must lay aside those sin that easily beset you in 2018. Those ungodly associations you have in 2017 must be dismembered in the New Year. As the head of your family, God wants to advance you in 2018. But you must partner with Him for your desired next level of glory to come to fruition. Abraham, the husband of Sarah, held fast to the promises of God to bless him and give him a son. He was focused on pleasing God. That is the mind you must have as you step into 2018.
But how do I stand fast in faith? As the head of your family and the only responsible to lead your wife and children in 2018, you will only stand in faith by doing what Daniel did. But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat nor with the wine which he drank, therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself (Dan.1:8)
· Father, in the name of Jesus, I rededicate my life to You for quality service in 2018.
· Father, in the name of Jesus, I receive empowerment from on high to live a holy life in 2018.
· Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to honour You with my life in 2018.
I have purposed in my heart that I will not defile my life in 2018 and beyond but I will walk to please Him because that is what makes me a good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
