No husband has the right to demand for respect, honour and submission from his wife and children until he has learnt how to respect and honour and submit first to God and then to his flock. From Luke 6:38, the word of God tells us that “give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down and shaken over shall men also give unto you”. Your wife and children shall give to you the measure of respect you give to them. Your flock will give to you the measure of honour you give to them and much more. So, it is very important for you to appreciate and walk consciously in this truth if you expect to receive from your flock honour. As it is written in the word of God, as the earth remains seed time and harvest shall not cease (Gen.8:22). As the head of your family, you must seek to invest good and quality seeds into the lives of your wife and children at all times and in every circumstance. You must also remember that you are a seed-bearing agent and a seed-planting agent. Everything about you is a seed.
These are some of the ways you can instigate honour and respect and submission from your wife and children. Firstly, you must mind what comes out of your mouth towards your flock. You must not talk down on your wife or children when they make mistakes or do what is wrong. You must not abuse them and make them feel they have committed the worse crime ever in their lives. Secondly, you must learn to listen to their suggestions, by giving them the opportunity to speak to you about what they feel on certain issues. A lot of the times, the temptation to want to lord it over your flock is there. But you must understand that we all know in part. For we know in part and we prophesy in part (1Cor.13:9). Sometimes what they say may not make any educational sense, but it could trigger a positive action that you need to take. As the leader in your family fold, you don’t force your wife and children to respect you. You simply work and walk your way to earn their respect. And the day you remind them to respect you, then know that you have lost your authority as the head of your family.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
· Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me to sow good and quality seeds of honour into the lives of my flock.
· Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to guard my tongue to speak only graceful words to my wife and children.
· Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me how to motivate my flock to become all that You have ordained them to be.

I have made up my mind to sow the seeds of honour, submission and respect into the lives of my wife and children because that is what triggers the harvest of honour, submission and respect from them as a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
