There is no future for a godless husband, no matter his age, class, position and wealth. Any husband who lives in sin cannot make the most of his headship unless he accepts Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and savior. As the head of your family, you must understand that sin does not offer good. Rather, anyone who engages in it suffers here on earth and the hereafter. You must never play in and around the arena of sin, no matter how attractive it may appear. As a symbol of Jesus Christ in the family fold, your life is worth more than the gains of this world. God’s will for you is to lead your wife and children to heaven. What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul? You must allow this truth to sink deeply inside of you and that is ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS IS SIN (1Jn.5:17). If it is not right on the basis of the word of God, it is a sin.
But why do I need to walk righteously? First, it gives you access to the throne of God. It helps you to have a conversation with God and hear from Him what steps to take to get out of the challenges you are having with your flock. In Ps.24:3, the Scripture says that for you to ascend unto the hills where God lives, you must live righteously. This means that living a holy life pleases God and empowers your prayers to be answered, thereby giving you victory over satanic attacks. Secondly, it makes you bold as a lion and guarantees your liberty. You are open to your flock sincerely and truthfully without any fear.
One major consequence of doing what is right to your flock and at the market places of life is that God will bless you. They will receive the Lord’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their creator (Ps.24:5) NLT. God wants to bless you so that you can be a blessing to your flock and others. Sin is a spiritual barrier. You must resist satan, who is the author if sin, steadfastly by the weapon of the blood of Jesus. Righteousness promotes. Make it count in your life and that of your flock.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
· Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy the power of sin in my life.
· Father, in the Name of Jesus, break the influence of the lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life.
· Father, in the Name of Jesus, input in me the ability to think and do the right thing at all times.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and I walk in this consciousness in my walk as a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
