Invite Them To The Banquet

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Matt.22:4-5

More Scriptures: Matt.11:28, Php.2:12, Jd.1:20

So he sent other servants to tell them, the feast has been prepared. The bulls and fattened cattle have been killed, and everything is ready, come to the banquet (Matt.22:4) NLT

Do you know what it means to be invited to a banquet? When you are invited to the banquet, it means that all types of food are ready. And in most cases, the foods that would be served are well prepared and in abundance. So, what does the banquet represent in this teaching? It represents your life and what you have to offer to your wife and children. The Scripture says of Jesus Christ, the perfect example of a good and godly husband, in Matt.11:28. Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Can your wife and children find rest in you? Can your life become a channel through which your flock can find strength and peace?  As the head of your family, it is very important to understand that your life as the leader in your family-fold is to reflect largeness, riches and abundance. You are a righteous well from where your wife and children should draw wisdom, strength and direction from. So, the question that should confront you is this, how reliable are you to your flock? Are you a pillar of strength and support to your flock? How well have you prepared yourself to the extent that you become the first responder of your flock in times of challenges? If your answers to the questions are in the negative, then don’t invite your flock to the banquet.

What are the covenant demands for inviting your flock to the banquet? The first action plan is for you to have a relationship with Jesus Christ by accepting Him as your Lord and personal savior. When you invite Him into your life, His light shines brightest for your flock to see and be attracted (Matt.5:14-16). The second step is to build yourself up in the things of God (Jude1:20). The word of God commands us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Php.2:12). You must continue to invest in yourself toward becoming a good and godly husband through study and practice. And as you develop and grow in godly character, it will attract your wife and children to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Are you ready?

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to will and do of Your good pleasure.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, break every force holding down my light from attracting my flock to me.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower Your light in my life to compel my wife and children to come to know You.

FAITH CONFESSION

I prepare myself as a vessel of righteousness and by it I attract my wife and children and the people around me because that is what makes me a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
