A Husband Of Complete Integrity

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Job 1:1-3

More Scriptures: Gen.20:5, 1Kgs.9:4, Pro.20:7

There once was a man named Job who lived in the land of Uz. He was blameless- a man of complete integrity. He feared God and stayed away from evil. He had seven sons and three daughters. He owned 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 teams of oxen, and 500 female donkeys. He also had many servants. He was in fact the richest person in that entire area (Job 1:1-3) NLT

I love the opening statement about the husbandman called Job. It did not only give you the assurance that God designed every husband to be complete. It also establishes that every husband can be complete in all things in Christ. When God created you, He had configured you to be full and whole in all things- spirit, soul and body. That was the testimony of Job. But what made this husband a complete personality? He was a shepherd who had integrity. He feared God and stayed away from sin and its attractions. This is the kind of life that God wants you to live for the sakes of your wife and children. Why? God wants to bless you and to make you a blessing. As the head of and priest over the family, the way you live your life has a direct impact on the lives of your flock. The effect may be immediate or manifest in the future. Because of the integrity of Job, the Scripture tells us that the latter end of Job was much better than his beginning.

Now, how do you become a complete husband? You become a man of complete integrity when you walk in the fear of God in all things- in your financial relationships with others, at work and in all your endeavours. You must be a faithful servant to everything that God has committed into your hands- marriage, your wife and children, your finances, position and authority. You must allow the Scripture in Gen.17:1-3 to guide you. Walk before me and be thou perfect. And as you walk in integrity, you become a candidate for a trans-generational blessing. But you must remember that you cannot walk in integrity without the help of the Holy Spirit. You need His empowerment to stand for what is righteous and do what is right. You are a shining light to your flock, don’t allow the temporary benefits of iniquity to quench it.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus empower me to walk in the fear of the Lord in everything that I do.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the power of ungodly influences.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a godly example to my wife and children and empower them to follow after me.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am a man of complete integrity because that is my ordained make up as a good and godly husband to flock in Jesus Name. Amen.
