Be Everything To Them

The main scripture today is rather long but I am prompted by the Holy Spirit to write it all out. This is to help you understand that as the representative of Jesus Christ in your family fold, God wants you to be everything to your flock. And the reason is for your flock to be like Jesus Christ. It is when you take your rightful position in your family fold that you can be crowned with glory and honour by God and your flock and others around you. When you are everything to your flock, you are able to connect to their hearts and redirect, mend and delete both positive and negative tendencies. Remember that the Scripture is given to provide you and I a guide. Apostle Paul was a leader who succeeded and the effect is still being felt today. You are the leader in your home. It is wisdom to follow his footsteps and you are sure you will arrive at the same level that He reached – honor, glory and power.

When I am with the Gentiles who do not follow the Jewish law, I too live apart from that law so I can bring them to Christ. But I do not ignore the law of God; I obey the law of Christ. When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings. Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win (1Cor.9:21-24) NLT

As the head of the family, it is important for you to have a winning mentality as you lead your flock. You must be conscious that the office of the husbandman is a race. So, God wants you to run to win and not lose. If you notice that you are losing your place in any area of your influence in the lives of your wife and children, fight to regain it. One of the areas you must demonstrate the very nature of Christ in your family fold is in their weaknesses because that is what satan will want you to focus your attention on. Don’t allow their weaknesses to blind you to their strengths. Become everything to your flock and they will return with every Christ-like nature to you.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to become a pillar of strength to my flock when they are weak.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to do to my wife and children what is acceptable in Your sight.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be like You in truth and in deeds to my flock.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am like Jesus to my wife and children because that is the race I am ordained to run as a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
