Wedge At The Door

If you are an awesome father, who makes time to play with your children, you will understand what I am about to share with you. Sometimes, when my children and I run around the house playing, I could run into the room and hold the door firmly so that they cannot come in. Of course because I am much bigger and stronger than they are, they find it very difficult to open the door or even access the room. The Person of the Holy Spirit wants to teach every husband something from this little play. And that lesson is that no one, not even the devil, can gain access into your sheepfold because you are the strongman.

No man can enter into a strong’s man and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man and then he will spoil his house (Mk.3:27). Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of a good and godly husband said that “all that my Father hath committed into my hands I have kept, and none has been able to take them away from me”. You must understand that as the head of the family, you have the power to subdue every force of hell that may want to interrupt the progress and peace of your sheepfold. Be it divorce, unforgiveness, hatred, bitterness, sickness, or even death, they cannot gain access into the lives of your flock and your family-fold unless you permit it. And because God has made you more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus, you cannot be bonded by satan, his agents and his devices. That is who you are.

But for you to remain the wedge at the door of your sheepfold by reason of headship, you must have a personal relationship with the Person of Jesus Christ. You must be not just be born again, you must walk in deep fellowship with Him because that is what guarantees your access to His power and authority. The word of God tells us in Lk. 10:19, that He has given us authority and power over all the works of the enemy. You must be in Christ and Christ in you because that way He will manifest His power through you (2Cor.5:17). You must live by faith and not fear. Faith in the ability and capacity of God is what empowers you to stop the mouth of the lion (Heb.11:33). You have let the door open for ungodly influences, now it is time for you to chase them away and wedge the door against their re-entry.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill me with the Spirit of boldness and faith to withstand the wiles of the devil.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, manifest Your power and glory in my life and give me victory.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to know You more and more and the power of Your salvation.

FAITH CONFESSION

I stand as the wedge between my sheepfold and the wiles of the devil because  I am ordained to secure my wife and children as the good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
