Even by the God of thy Father, who shall help thee, and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with the blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts and of the womb. The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills, they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren. (Gen.49:25-26)
Have you ever wondered why God made you a father? Have you ever imagined the power that God has given to you because of your position as a father? If you have not, I want you to ponder on the Scripture in Gen.49:26. While you are meditating on the verse of Scripture, I want you to know that you are more than a seed-carrying agent. You are an agent of blessing. You have not just brought forth children to fill space on earth. You are empowered to raise godly children. That is who you are.
Now, when you consider the 26th verse of Gen.49, you will notice that the Bible says that the blessings of thy father have prevailed…….. What this means is that every father is a carrier of God’s blessings. He carries the power of God on the inside of him that will empower his children to win over the challenges of life. You must know that the difference between the children of the godly shepherd and that of the ungodly shepherd is the impartation they have received from their father. While the seed of the godly enjoys the supernatural empowerment of their father, the ungodly or ignorant fathers do not. If you study Isa.61:9, you see the perfect will of God for your children. And the seed shall be known among the Gentiles ………and all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the Lord has blessed. Your children are ordained to be blessed seed. God has put in them the seed of blessedness but it will require your input to activate the blessed seeds.
There are two ways you can trigger the blessed seed in the lives of your children. The first is by declaring with your mouth the promises of God for your children in faith and consistently. (Rom.10:9). The second task for you is to lay your hands on them and bless them. Your hands are designed to convey the power of God that will stir up the seed of blessing in their lives. God has given you everything to make the most of your headship as a father. You must be responsible.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
· Father, in the Name of Jesus, communicate Your power through my hands.
· Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower the words of my mouth to speak life to my seed.
· Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower my children to become blessed seeds.
FAITH CONFESSION
I establish my children as blessed seeds by the laying on of my hands and by the words of my mouth because that is what defines my headship as a father in Jesus name. Amen.
