You Are A Way Maker

At about 2am on Friday the 15th of June, 2018, my Teacher, the Person of the Holy Spirit woke me up and began to teach me something quite interesting about who we are as husbands and heads of our families. And He connected me to the lyrics of the popular Nigerian gospel singer Sinach.  In her song she said Jesus Christ is the way-maker, miracle worker, promise keeper and light in the darkness. Now if Jesus Christ who is the perfect example of a good and godly husband is all of these and much more to His bride, then you and I are to manifest the same character to our sheep. In Eph.5:25, the Scripture says that husbands should love his wife as Christ has loved the church. And some of the ways He loved the bride is to provide a way of escape and hope when there seemed to be none. He healed the bride when she was sick and fed her when she was hungry. He kept to His promise that He will never leave nor forsake them. So that when the disciples were afraid that they will be helpless without the Saviour, the Bridegroom, He came through for them. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter which the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things…. (Jn.14:26).

That is exactly who you are. As the head of your family and the spiritual head of your sheep, it is very important for you to understand that you occupy an anointed office because you are like Christ. You are a savior and bishop of your sheep. (Eph.5:27). You are a prophet (Gen.20:7). The power that works in Jesus Christ also works in you. Hence, if Jesus Christ succeeded as the Bridegroom, you also must succeed. You are a way maker and a miracle worker to your flock. You are also a promise keeper and a light in darkness to your sheep.

In that exalted position that you occupy, your wife and children should not be confused about their lives or stranded on what next to do. It is your job to make a way for them by providing a way of escape by the wisdom of God at work in you. And this covers every area of their lives. You are to stand at the doors of their lives against any form of sickness and disease that may want to attack them. And you do this by praying for and with them and declaring the counsel of God for their health and vitality. You are also the light in darkness. What this means is that you provide righteous direction and godly illumination to your wife and children by the words you speak and the way you conduct your life. You are a kind of Christ to your flock. It is an honour to be called the husbandman. You must make your life count positively in the lives of your wife and children as a good and godly husband. 

SPIRITUAL EXRCISE

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live the fullness of my calling.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with divine wisdom to function as a good and godly husbandman.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver from every root of ignorance and foolishness.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am a way-maker, miracle worker, promise keeper and light in the darkness to my wife and children because I am a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
