Many husbands have concluded that their sheep are responsible for the troubles in their sheepfold. Some have gone as far as tagging their wives as witches. But the Lord said to me to tell husbands that their greatest enemy is not their wives or children. God said to me to tell husbands that their greatest enemy is the devil. The misbehavior of your wife or children is rooted in the operation of the devil. Satan is the person instigating and influencing them to do the things that you don’t like. I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, GIVE NONE OCCASION TO THE ADVERSARY to speak reproachfully (1Tim.5:14).
It the works of the flesh that influences your wife to speak reproachfully to you, and satan is behind it. It is a force higher than her that is working the wind of disobedience (Eph.2:2). If you read the message of Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of a good and godly husband, He tells us that the devil has come to steal, kill and destroy (Jn.10:10). Whatever you notice about your wife and children that is ugly and ungodly is coming from the devil. It is spiritual corruption. Satan, your adversary, is behind their misbehavior. You must understand that God has ordained your home and family to be a garden of honour and blessing. So, all the troubles you are having with your wife and children are intended by the devil to destroy your glorious family life.
So, how do you contend with my enemy, satan? You must understand that you are fighting against principalities and powers. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph.6:12). You must understand that as the head of the family and overseer of your wife and children, your position will be continually threatened by the devil. He is afraid that your godly influence would lead your wife and children to heaven and make them positive influences on the earth. So if you have this understanding, you would not confront your wife and children. Rather, you would confront the devil, your enemy. Beating up your wife, denying her your good benevolence, becoming harsh and unfriendly with your children as a result of their unwarranted misbehavior is not the solution. However, instead of beating your wife and children, deal ruthlessly with the devil, the instigator of bad behaviours.
But for you to beat satan, you must put on the whole armor of God. And this includes the word, prayers, fasting, faith, bold confessions and declarations, the blood of Jesus and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the next time your wife and child misbehave, bind the devil and its operations rather than bind your sheep.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
· Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with all the armor of God.
· Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach my hands to war a good warfare.
· Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my eyes of understanding to behold the right words for my victory.
FAITH CONFESSION I put on all the armor of God and by it I withstand all satanic manipulations against my wife and children because I am committed to becoming a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
