More Scriptures: 1Sam.2:6, Heb.7:12, Lk.15:22

Every transformation begins with a choice to change. The hallmark of your position as the head of the family is your decision to improve yourself consistently in the way you relate with your wife, children and other people. It also has to do with the choices you make on a daily basis. As the head of the family, you cannot continue to live your life outside of God’s will and expect to make a positive impact in the lives of your wife and children. This is why those negative and ungodly things that you do to your wife and children and think it doesn’t matter must stop if you want peace to reign in your family. The mercy of God may not be available the next time you plan to hurt your wife or children. In 1Sam.2:6, the Scriptures describe God as the Man who has the power to kill and make alive, and the power to bring to the grave and bring up.

God has positioned you as the head of the family to oversee your wife and children. Don’t abuse the privilege of being a husband; otherwise God may leave you for the devil to torment. If He has placed you as the head of the family, it is because He considered you a responsible leader ready and prepared to bring transformation into the lives of your wife and children. When you break the hedge the serpent will bite.

For you to be transformed unto godliness, you must know and acknowledge that your calling as the head of your family is a call to greater responsibilities. And these responsibilities cover spiritual, material and financial provision, protection and guidance, training and vision. In 1Tim.5:8, the Word of God commanded husbands to provide for their households. In Eph.6:4, the Bible commands fathers to train their children. In Gal.4:13, the Scripture commands you to intercede for your sheep until Christ is formed in them. The second step is for you to begin to act on the demands of your office. Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of a good and godly husband says that he that heareth my sayings and doeth them, I will liken him to a wise man. So, it is not enough for you to know. It is much more important for you to act out what you know. And this means that you must take the lead to provide spiritual, emotional and physical protection for your wife and children. This also requires that you must continually uphold your family in fasting and prayers. Thirdly, you must commit your precious time to the growth and development of your sheep. Your time investment is more important to your wife and children than your silver and gold. Your sheep needs your attention. They want you to hear them out.

And as you give yourself to the demands of your office, your value will be enhanced and this transformation will affect your wife and children positively to the glory of God.

FAITH CONFESSION

I take up the challenge to function as a man, husband and father in my sheepfold because that is what makes me a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
