SECURING YOUR PLACE

As the head of the family and the spiritual leader in your home, there are threats from satan, sin and the world that lurk around to distract and distabilize your assignment as the godly husbandman. It is the truth. And only a foolish husband would think otherwise. From the beginning of creation that God founded the office of the husbandhood and put the husbandman in it, satan has not rested from attacking. From the first attack on the husbandman in Gen.3:3-7 to this day, the husband has continued to be an endangered specie. And this is why so many husbands are struggling to stabilize their sheepfold and be in total command of their sheep.

So today, I want to share with you some ways by which you can secure your leadership position in your sheepfold to the extent that your wife and children will honour and respect you. The first thing you must do is to desperately and passionately be committed to reading and studying both the word of God, which is the Bible and other anointed materials. Knowledge is one of the greatest weapons you require to dominate the attacks and pressure in and around your sheepfold. You cannot afford not to know or improve on what you already know because if you do not, you will continue to live in frustration, discouragement and hopelessness as the husbandman. For my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because thou hast rejected knowledge…….(Hos.4:6). You must understand that as the husband, you cannot give what you don’t have and you cannot be greater than what you know. And this is why the Bible admonishes and encourages you to study. Study to show thyself approved as a workman who is not ashamed but rightly dividing the word of truth (2Tim.2:15). If you must make the most of your headship in the lives of your wife and children, there is no substitute to seeking to know. Imagine this for a moment. Do you think a pilot can make the most of his or her flying career if he or she doesn’t know and has not improved on what he knows? Now if the ignorant pilot decides to fly the air plane, both the pilot and the passengers are definitely on a suicide mission. The plane will crash and everyone on board would die. Why? Because the pilot lacked knowledge or was ignorant. You must continue to increase your knowledge of God as it concerns your role as the godly man, husband and father.

When you give yourself to wanting to know, you sharpen your skills and you become empowered to reign and rule as the head of the family. And the Holy Spirit gives you illumination and direction as to what to do, where to go, how to do it and when to do it in every area and challenge that comes to you. Therefore, you must invest your resources in books, magazines, CDs, and other resource materials authored by proven godly husbandmen. Knowledge is the highway to your kingship.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, break every root of pride and I-know-it-all attitude from my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with an unquenchable taste for knowledge and truth from Your word.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the Spirt of a quick understanding that I may understand when I read and listen.

FAITH CONFESSION

I set my heart to seek to know the truth from Your word because that is what I need to secure my position in my sheepfold as the good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
