ENJOY LIFE AND PEACE

Every husbandman wants to enjoy good life, health, vitality and peace of mind. Every husband wants to enjoy his wife and children. But not every husband understands what is required to enjoy the life of godliness and peace. And that is what I want to share with you today from the word of God. As the shepherd to your sheep, you must understand that no carnal husband can love his wife and children as Jesus Christ has loved the Church. So, until a husband is in Christ, it would be difficult for him to love his wife and children the same way Jesus loves the church. This is very important especially in the times we are in, where carnality has taken the place of spirituality. Husbands are no longer interested in pursuing the will of God for the sheepfold that God has committed into their hands. Husbands living as sheep instead of shepherds. Husbands losing their true identity as the godly man, husband and father in Christ. As the head of your family and the shepherd of your sheep fold, you cannot afford to live and lead your flock with the standard and rules of the world. Now understand that when the Bible says carnality, it refers to the principles of the world. And because the office of the husbandhood is spiritual, it would be a struggle for you to take charge of your flock using the principles of the world (Genesis 2:15-18). This is why the Scripture has this to say in Romans 8:6. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:6).

God wants abundant life in your relationship with your wife and children, because that is why He sent the Bridegroom, Jesus, to the world. God wants to give you peace of mind. He doesn’t want you to live in chaos with your flock. But you must connect to these blessings by living a spiritual life. However, for you to enjoy life and peace, you must walk after the Spirit. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1). As a leader over your wife and children, you cannot lead them well until you allow the Person of the Holy Spirit to lead you. When you learn to submit to the instruction of the Holy Spirit, then it would be easier for your wife and children to obey your instructions. In John 14:26, the Holy Spirit is assigned to teach and guide and even show us things to come. So, when you consider the challenges and demands that come with being the head of your family, you would realize that you cannot do without Him. And as you allow Him to lead you, you will enjoy life and peace. Your family fold would become like the Garden of Eden. In fact, the beer parlour and drinking joints would no longer be attractive to you. Creating extra activities just to kill time would not interest you anymore.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy from my life every form of distraction.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to stay on the path of righteousness.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from ungodly associations and relationships.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am empowered by the Spirit of God and I live a life of spirituality, leading unto good works because that is what makes me the good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
