By the grace of God and the help of my Teacher, the Holy Spirit, I will be teaching on the three dimensions of the head of the family. That is the husbandman, who is the head of the family and the shepherd of the sheep stands on three vital platforms. And the platforms are interconnected to the extent that if one is out of place it distorts the entire structure of the office of the husbandhood. The beauty of the platform is when the three pillars are standing strong. So today and in the next three (3) days, we shall be looking at the subject.
The first tripod that you stand on as the shepherd is-manhood. As the head of your family, God demands that you function as the man. Therefore, you must see yourself in this light. Now, what function describes the manhood? The Bible has the answer. And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over……………….. So God created man in his own image and in the image of God created him……..and God said be fruitful and multipy and replenish the earth and have dominion over….. (Gen.1:26-28). As a man in your family kingdom, you are empowered to be fruitful, multiply, replenish and have dominion. Now, when the forces of hell are fighting against your fruitfulness whether it’s in your body, career or business, you have the power of God in you to fight back. It is not the time for you to run away from home or allow your wife to bear the cross as has been the case with many families. The wife is the person who attends all the prayer meetings, all the deliverance sessions and does all the believing. You cannot sit back and watch. You must contend. That is what makes you a man. When satan visited the family of Isaac with barreness, it was not the wife that fought back. It was the husband. And Isaac entreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren, and the Lord was entreated of him and Rebekah his wife conceived (Gen.25:21). When the enemy came behind to steal the treasures of David’s household, it was not the wife who went to battle. It was the husband. And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south and Ziklag and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire… and David was greatly distressed…but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God…So David went, he and six hundred men that were with him…but David pursued…and David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away …….David recovered all (1Sam.30:1, 6,9,10,18,19). You are a recovery agent. That is what makes you the godly man.
