PRAYERS FOR YOUR WIFE (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Eph.1:17-19

More Scriptures: Mk.8:18, Ac.9:18, Matt.20:33

Yesterday, we considered the first prayer point you have to pray for your wife so that she can become all that you want her to be. I challenged you to pray for supernatural strength and energy to go through each day and you will be amazed how profitable your wife will be to you in every way possible. Today, the second prayer point I challenge you to pray for your wife is this, FATHER, PROTECT HER MIND AND HEART FROM DOUBTS AND FEARS.

Have you wondered why this prayer point is so important to your wife directly and to you indirectly? It is simply because until your wife sees what you see, she may never appreciate your efforts. She will doubt your every move. Any wonder, you hear husbands complain that their wives don’t believe them or their visions or even projects. And this lack of confidence from the wife stirs up frustration, anger and resentment on the part of the shepherd toward his wife.  As the head of your wife, the two forces you must contend with on her behalf are doubt and fear. You must pray to God to stir up the spirit of faith in the heart of your wife. When God visited the family of Abraham in Gen.21and told Abraham, the husband of Sarah that they would soon become daddy and mummy, the husband believed but the wife doubted. In fact the Scripture says, and Sarah laughed in her heart. In Roms.4, the Bible tells us that Abraham believed God against all hope and called the things that be not as though they were. There are so many dreams and visions that you may have and want to pursue, but you are afraid that your wife may not believe you not because she doesn’t trust you but perhaps she is afraid that the dream may fail. And if you don’t help her faith through prayers, you may not be able to pursue this dream. When God spoke to me to start this devotional, I shared with my wife. But she feared that it would not see the light of day. Her fears stemmed from the fact that the Mission’s magazine, THE EPHOD, was yet to fully gain wide coverage and now the devotional. How would that be possible? So, I knew I had a challenge on my hands. I began to pray for her eyes of understanding to be enlightened to see what I saw (Eph.1:18). This is very important because as my father in the faith, Bishop David Oyedepo once said, “you don’t doubt what you see”. As your wife sees what you see and understand what you understand, her fears and doubts would disappear. Her faith would be stirred up to believe you and what you have been called to do. She will also be inspired to pray for your assignment in her private and quiet time. Remember that two are better than one and they have a good reward for their labour.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, stir up the spirit of faith in the heart of my wife.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, open the eyes of understanding of my wife to see what I see.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy the spirit of fear and doubt in her life.

FAITH CONFESSION

I stand in the gap in prayers for my wife for supernatural FAITH AND COURAGE because I am ordained by God to be a good and godly husband to her in Jesus Name. Amen.
