CLEANED BY THE SPOKEN WORD

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: John 15:1-3

More Scriptures: Gen.1:26, Rom.10:10, Jn.15:4

Did you know that as a husband and the head of your family, you can clean up your wife and children by the power of the spoken word of God? Did you also know that you are the husbandman after the image and likeness of God? That is what the Scripture says in Jn.15:1. I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. And who is the husbandman? The husbandman is described as a labourer, or better still, a worker (2Tim.2:6). As a husband and the spiritual leader over your wife and children, you are an ordained worker, whose principal responsibility is to raise a generation of righteous flock for God and His kingdom on earth. However, you may realize that your wife and children do not seem to be measuring up to your desired expectation, spiritually, emotionally, mentally and even academically. Sometimes, you are tempted to want to give up on them. But God’s word has given you the answer. It says in verse 3 of Jn.15 that now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

As the leader of your family fold, what you can use to clean up your wife and children are the words that you speak in their direction, both secretly and openly. That is the word of life from the Bible which are positive. You cannot keep speaking negative words toward them and expect different results. Only a mad person expects such. It is not enough for you to wish or think of right words in your heart. You have a godly responsibility to speak it out, if you want to see the benefit of salvation of Jesus Christ manifest in their lives (Rom.10:10). But there is just one very important demand God expects from you. If your spoken words would make any positive impact in the lives of your flock, you must abide in Jesus Christ. In Jn.15:4, the word of God says, abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abideth in the vine, no more can ye, except ye abide in me. Until you connect your life to the Person of Jesus Christ, you cannot command the kind of authority He commanded as the leader of your family fold. Until, you sow your life into His life as a seed, you cannot act like He would toward your wife and children. So the first and most important decision you must take now is to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, I surrender my all to You and declare You Lord over my life.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, break every root of pride and disobedience working in my life.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to trust You with my life, and all that I know and possess.

FAITH CONFESSION

I set a watch over my mouth that I may speak right words to my wife and children even as I abide in Jesus Christ as a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.

The devotional and the prayers are wonderful. If these materials have reached great men of God whose marriages have shattered, they would have been saved. The task now is to make your work available in every household. I pray that the Lord will give you the strength and the capacity to reach out to more dying souls. The world needs your work now. Thanks, and God bless
