SADDLE STITCHES (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Jn.17:8-12

More Scriptures: Eph.6:4, Eph.5:25, Gen.18:19

Yesterday, we looked at the connection between who we are as husbands and what the saddle stitches are to the book. I pray in the name of Jesus that the revelation knowledge of the gospel shall find practical expression in your walk as a husband. Amen. In Eph.6:4, the Bible says that you are the stitch that holds your children together in fulfilling God’s plan and purposes for their lives. And ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. However, for you to become an effective saddle stitch in the lives of your wife and children, you must accept full responsibility for the molding of their lives, principally because you are the head and leader. Furthermore, your children are seeds from your loins.

Leadership is about taking complete ownership of an assignment and be accountable to God and your flock. For I have given unto them the words which thou givest me and they have received them and have known surely that I came out from thee and they have believed that thou didst send me. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name those that thou gavest me I have kept and none of them is lost…… (Jn.17:8, 12). The second practical step you need to take is to learn at the feet of Jesus and to know His expectations of you as a man, husband and father. Jesus, speaking said, learn of me for my yoke is not heavy. In 2Tim.2:15, the word of God says, study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. You must understand that there is always something new to know about God and His flock. You cannot afford to think you know it all and be at ease (Am.6:1). You must continue to press and dig deeper to discover the portraits of God for your wife and children.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from spiritual complacency.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, reveal Your road map of my wife and children to me.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to deliver on Your plans for my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am a saddle stitch sent by God to bind my wife and children in the love of Christ because that is what makes me a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
