Trust in him at all times, ye people, pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us (Ps.62:8).
Are you a husband reading this devotional and everything and everyone seems to be fallen apart for you? Does it seem you are helpless and confused about your life as a man, husband and father? Well, I have good news for you-God is your refuge. You only need to pour out your heart to Him in prayers. Note something significant from our main Scripture. Pour out your heart before Him. The Bible did not say pour out your heart to your wife or your children or your parents or your friends. It says pour out your heart to God because He alone has the answer to all your questions. As the head of the family, you must have a very strong relationship with God and His word. God, Who made you the head, is your present help. He has not and will never abandon you. But you must trust Him wholly and completely. You must to lean on Him. You must pour out your heart to Him truthfully, heartily, completely and not half-heartedly.
So, how do I pour out my heart to God? First, by telling Him everything. Don’t be afraid and think that He will be overwhelmed with your prayers. Talk to Him like you would talk to your earthly father whom you trust. Are you burdened about the health challenge of your wife or children, parents or a relative? Are you worried about the poor academic performance of your children or other family members? Are you worried about the bad behavior of your flock? No matter what the challenge may be, take it to God in prayer and He will provide a refuge for you. You must not lose your headship to the distractions of life, neither should you bow your head in shame because of the detours on your path to becoming a good and godly husband. God has made you a king and a priest that you may reign on the earth (Rev.5:10-12).
