POUR OUT YOUR HEART TO GOD (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Ps.63:1-2

More Scriptures: Is.49:27, Jn.10:10, Num.14:28

O God, thou art my God, early will I seek thee, my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is (Ps.63:1)

O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come (Ps.65:2)

As the head of your family, God is your Father and He is all you need to make the most of your reign as a king and a priest in your family fold and in the lives of your wife and children. According to Bishop David Oyedepo, who is my mentor in the faith, he said that God is all you need to get all your needs met. God is not a task master. Suicide is not an option. Compromise is not the way of escape. Hopelessness is not the cure. Resigning to fate that what will happen will happen is not the way. Pouring out the fullness of your fears and concerns to Him is the life wire and way out for you.

However, you must fight against these satanic traps. The first is the trap of seeking for alternatives in ungodly activities – like smoking, adultery, uncontrolled eating or returning to start doing those vices that you had stopped doing. These are satanic traps set up to take your attention away from looking up to God. You can never find the answers to your problem in drugs, adultery, alcohol, anger, bitterness and the likes. In these alternatives, you will be frustrated and disappointed. The answers are found in God and His word. Another trap that you must fight is the force of compromise. A lot of the time as the heads of our families, we truly trust God but when the pressure becomes so much, we tend to lower our godly standards and say it doesn’t matter. We speak half truths and lies in our hearts in order to secure favour from men. We become indifferent to acts of unrighteousness and say it doesn’t matter because of the benefits that would come to us. God wants you to stand strong in Him because that is your testimony as a good and godly husband.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me how to pour out my heart to You.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the spirit of truth and let me stay on with the truth.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the deceitfulness of life.

FAITH CONFESSION

I pour out my heart to God and lean on Him to help me fulfill my call as a good and godly husband to my wife and children and the world in Jesus Name. Amen.
