WALK, WORK, TALK THE TRUTH (2)

For he hath founded it upon the seas and established it upon the floods. Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands and a pure heart, who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully (Ps.24:2-4).

God wants you to abide in Him so that He can reveal to you His plan for your wife and children. God wants to have a deeper fellowship with you so that He can guide and fill you with the wisdom that you need to lead and inspire your flock. He doesn’t want you to fail. No! But how do I measure my walk, my work and my talk as a good and godly husband? In your walk, it must be upright. Don’t walk to places or be found in places that do not glorify God. The house of the strange woman or man isn’t the right place to be. The beer parlour or strip club isn’t too. The abode of the herbalist isn’t the right place to be. If the place does not bring honour to the Name of Jesus it is not worth going to. In your work, you must do what is right whether someone is watching you or not. As simple as disobeying the traffic light is an unrighteous action. The Scripture says that all unrighteousness is sin (1Jn.5:17). Finally, you must speak the truth from your heart and not with your mouth. What you say must be the truth drawn from a sincere heart. You must not be a hypocrite. You must mean what you say and say what you mean. When you live this path of honour as a husband, you enjoy credibility, respect and honour from your flock and those around you. People can trust your judgment and comments. And you receive the blessings from the Lord and righteousness from the God of your salvation (Ps.24:5). Is this not a better deal for you? I know it is.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to walk uprightly all the days of my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to work righteously in every area of my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to speak the truth from my inward heart.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am empowered by the Holy Ghost to walk, work and speak the truth in righteousness because that is the will of God for me as a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
