FOR EVERY CREATURE OF GOD IS GOOD, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving. (1Tim.4:4). I am inspired by this Word of God as a husband and leader in my home. I am confident that it will also motivate you to become the good and godly man, husband and father and challenge you to always aim to be better husbandman to your wife and children. From the Scripture in 1Timothy chapter 4 and verse 3 to 6, God says that, “He created every creature and the creature that He created are good”. And these creatures that God created includes your wife and children (Gen.2:18-24, Is.8:18). In Gen.1:26-28, when God created all things, He exclaimed that “they are very good”. So, if God says your wife and children are good, honestly, they are. Your wife and children are not as bad as you think. They are good gifts from God to you. No matter what is happening between you and them, they still as good as God made them in the beginning.
Your wife may have attitude problem, yet she is still good. Your children may have attitude problem, yet they are still very good. Some husbands have concluded that their wives are “finished and spent”because doctor’s report confirmed that her reproductive organs have been damaged hence, she cannot conceive. But let us see the picture God has of her for you. In Ps.128:3, the Scriptures say that thy wife shall be as fruitful vine by the sides of your house, thy children like olive plants round about the table. This is what God says your wife. She is a good creature. She didn’t come to you by accident. You found her because God led you to her. In Pro.18:22, it says whoso FINDETH a WIFE findeth a good thing. Your wife is not a bad incidence of your life. She is good. Also, your children are not useless as you think they are. They are like olive plants. God gave them to you to be signs and wonders to your home and world (Is.8:18). Fathers, don’t neglect your children because of their misbehaviour. Don’t conclude that there is nothing good that can come out of your children. It is a sin against God and your seed (children) for you to call your children useless. How dare you call what God has called good, useless? And by the grace of God, these are the two creatures that God has given to you. Don’t accept the negative suggestions and opinion of men about your sheep. Don’t even believe that your wife and children are bad from the beginning. No! If you accept these lies, you will continue to have problems with your wife and children, and this will affect your relationship with your wife and children negatively. It will also breed bitterness and hatred in your home, creating a tense atmosphere in your sheepfold. Therefore, hold them in high esteem.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, renew my mind to always think of my wife and children as good and not bad gifts from You.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, put Your life in me and make me be like You to my wife, children and family.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus and by Your Spirit, empower me to have the right attitude to my wife and children

I relate with my wife and children according to the mandate of my office as the godly husbandman and consider them as GOD’S precious gifts to be because I want to be and remain a good and godly husband to them in Jesus name. Amen.
