FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT

Let me remark by saying that the proof that a product works is found in the results it produces. Likewise seed. The proof that you have planted seeds are the fruits it produces, and that is how best you can describe the quality of the seed. This is why you have to consider and give attention to the fruits of the Spirit of Christ because that is what you have to benchmark your life with if you really want to become the good and godly man, husband and father. So, the question is this, do you know the fruits of the Spirit? And if you know, do you have and manifest any or all of the fruits of the Spirit? As the head of your family and the spiritual leader of your home and your wife and children, what kind of fruits are you producing for members of your flock to eat from? This is so important because as a leader, it is very easy for you to blame those you are leading. But what kind of fruits does God want you to produce in the lives of your wife and children? Our main text provides the answer. But the fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONG-SUFFERING, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS, FAITH, MEEKNESS, TEMPERANCE, against such there is no law (Gal.5:22). As the husbandman, your position is first spiritual before it becomes physical. The reason is because God, Who created the office of the husbandhood is Spirit (Jn.4:24, Gen.2:18). And because you represent the God-head in your home, it is very important for you to bear His nature-love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and endurance. God wants your wife and children to see you as the Bible they have read. So, how do I bear fruits? Firstly, you must allow the life of Christ to flow inside of you. I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live yet not I but Christ liveth in me and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the SON OF God, who loves me and gave himself for me (Gal.2:20). Secondly, you must continue to look unto Jesus Christ as your standard fruit bearer. The relationship Jesus Christ has with the church is the same relationship you have with your sheep. Just the same way He looked up to the Father for the outflow of His fruits, so also you should look unto Jesus Christ for the outflow of His life. The Scripture says, looking unto Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith (Heb.12:2). And when you bear these fruits of the Spirit, you will have succeeded in influencing your wife and children for Christ. And as you give yourself to these demands, you will have peace with God and with your sheep. You will enjoy unhindered access to the presence of God even as you treat your wife with knowledge (1Pet.3:7) and nurture your children in the way and fear of the Lord (Eph.6:4)

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me to bear fruits of the Spirit in all that I do.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, prune me and let me bear more fruits.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, always help me to yield my all to You in all things.

FAITH CONFESSION

I yield my all to Jesus Christ so that I can bear fruits of the Spirit for my good and the good of my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
