THE ESTABLISHED HUSBANDMAN (2)

And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness and let him have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air…….So, God created man in his own image…..And God blessed them and God said unto them be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth (Gen.1:26-28).  

You have been anointed to lay your hands on your wife and destroy barrenness. Isaac did it (Gen.25:21). Zechariah did so (Lk.1:13). Elkanah did it (1 Sam.1:3, 19). You are an anointed vessel of God and you became so anointed the day He made you the husband and the head of your family. Thirdly, the established husbandman entails living a life of sacrifice unto God and your wife and children. Until your life becomes a living sacrifice, it is not worth living. Until, you are ready to lay down your life for the good of your wife and children, and willing to go all the way with Jesus Christ, you are not prepared to lead. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jn.3:16). God gave His best, His only best, so that life can be meaningful to you and I. That is who you are in Christ. It has and will never be convenient for you to give your best consistently and lovingly to your wife and children and God. But you must continue to do what God commands you to do if you want to be established as the godly man, husband and father in your sheepfold and to your sheep. Fourthly, you need the wisdom of God at work in your life. According to Scriptures, there are three kinds of wisdom. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is EARTHLY, SENSUAL, DEVLISH, but the wisdom that is from above is first PURE, THEN PEACEABLE, GENTLE, AND EASY TO ENTREAT, FULL OF MERCY AND GOOD FRUITS, WITHOUT PARTIALITY AND WITHOUT HYPOCRISY (Jas.3:15-17). The wisdom that will make you cheat on your wife is of the devil. The wisdom that makes you have consistent arguments and quarrels with your wife and children is of the devil. In fact, the wisdom that makes you divorce your wife is satanic. The wisdom that will make you act in ways that will not bring peace, goodness and mercy into your sheepfold fold is satanic and not from God. The wisdom that will make you say one thing and act differently, that is living a double life-hypocrisy-is of the devil. As the head of your family and the spiritual authority in your family kingdom, your conduct and character must be pure, peaceful, gentle, friendly, merciful, just, and fair. These are the characteristics of the wisdom that comes from God. And this is the realm God wants you us to operate in.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, reveal myself to me and empower me to walk in the truth.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, set me free from ignorance.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to be my best in You as the man, husband and father.

FAITH CONFESSION

I access the truth from God’s word about my make up as the godly husbandman and I walk in that truth for the benefit and good of my wife and children because that is what makes me the godly shepherd in Jesus Name. Amen.
