SATAN TAKETH HIM

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Lk.22:30-31

More Scriptures: Rom.10:10, Prov.4:7, Rev.12:10

I have come to discover that when a member of your flock misbehaves, we tend to look at the wrong direction for the cause. And a lot of the times, we miss the target and watch things deteriorate from bad to worse. So today, I want to point you to the right direction. Now consider what happened during the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ. Peter was the closest disciple to Jesus. Infact he was a strong member of the inner circle of Jesus. He had access to some of the workings of Jesus that others do not have. But on this fateful day, something unusual happened. Satan taketh”him. Peter began to abuse Jesus and calling Him uncomplimentary names. Jesus understood how the things of the Spirit work. He did not attack Peter directly. He confronted the force working disobedience in him. He rebuked satan. Now, this is the point. Every time your wife and children misbehave or act in ways that almost make you wonder if they are your flock, settle it in your spirit that satan “taketh” them. Your wife and children have not been created and given to you to cause you pain and discomfort. They are there to bless you and make you a proud man, husband and father.

But how do I deliver my flock just the same way Jesus delivered Peter? Cast away the spirit of unrighteousness by the power of your words. In several passages of Scripture, God’s word provides us the power of our confession. For instance, the power of life and death is in the tongue. Also, the Bible says, declare that thou mayest be justified. And in Rom.10:10, the word of God says, with the heart man believeth and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. The second practical step to take is to ask for divine wisdom from the Lord. In Prov.4, the word of God says that wisdom is the principal thing. You need the operation of the wisdom of God at work in your life to enable you handle your wife and children. The wisdom of God will help you to speak wisely, rightly and timely. It puts you in command of the situation at the home front so much so that when you speak, the convicting power of the Holy Spirit will work through your flock to break them and bring them to repentance. You must understand that you are in a battle field. Satan is your arch enemy. You must contend with him in battle and put him where he belongs-under your feet. You have a goodly heritage in Jesus. Make it count.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, by Your Spirit, fill me with divine wisdom and help me to operate in it.
  • Father, by Your Spirit, empower me to function as the head and leader in my home.
  • Father, by the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, deliver me from every foolish speaking.

FAITH CONFESSION

I take responsibility to secure my wife and children from the influences of satan because that is what makes me a good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
