OBEDIENCE MAKES YOU WISE

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Proverbs 1:5-8

More Scriptures: 1Tim.5:8, Ecc.12:13, Duet.28:1

Any husband who despises the instructions of God as regards his responsibility to his family or does not regards God’s commandments as it concerns the office of the husbandhood is a fool. It doesn’t matter his status in the society or position in his church or office, if he refuses to do what God says he should do, he is a fool. In our main text today, the Word of God says, a wise man will hear, and will increase in learning, and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels. To understand a proverb, and the interpretation, the words of the wise and their dark sayings. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, BUT FOOLS DESPISE WISODM AND INSTRUCTION. My son hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother. (Pro.1:5-8.).

Every instruction that is in the Bible relating to how you should handle and treat your wife and children is to make you wise.As the head of the family, you must understand that you are guided by instructions and commandments. In Gen. 2:15, after God created the family institution, the Garden of Eden, he commanded the husband, Adam, to dress and keep. In Deut.6:1-7, God gave the commandments of how husbands, who are spiritual leaders, should administer their family kingdom, including their children. In Deut. 28:1, God defines His precepts on the basis of commandments. So, if you must make the most of your relationship with God, your wife and children, you must cheerfully obey the commandments and instructions of God, no matter how the instructions may appear.

For instance, God says, “husbands love thy wife”, which also means husbands are servants after the order of Jesus Christ. But you said you cannot serve your wife. Then you are a fool. Have you forgotten that Jesus Christ washed the feet of His disciples (Jn.13:4-8)? Jesus came to serve and not to be served. And as the head of the family, you are representing Him in your home. And what this means is that you are to reflect His life to your wife and children. God, Who gives the commands and demands that you to obey the instructions from His word is wiser than you. As the godly husbandman, God has provided you with instructions on how to run your family kingdom, and these instructions are not designed to hurt. Rather, the instructions are given to make you and I better men, husbands and fathers to our sheep and in the market places of life. So, when you obey all of His commandments, you qualify for all His blessings. Therefore, let every husband obey God and all His commandments. It is the husband’s best bet.
