Main Scriptures: Romans 12:11-16
More Scriptures: 1Thess.5:18, Phil.4:6, Ps.100:4
Yesterday, the Person of the Holy Spirit encouraged every husband undergoing any form of pressure to put his confidence in God and Christ alone. Today, as the head of your home, what should be your approach to God and the people around you when it appears as if you have prayed and no answer seems to be on the way or worse still, the answers are slow? This is what the Holy Spirit wants you to do so that you don’t live like a husband who has no hope. In Rom.12:11-16, the Scriptures gave us the secret. It says, never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fevour serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer, share with God’s people who are in need, practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Rom.12:11-16.
From the foregoing Bible passage, you will discover four important things that you can do when it appears you are beginning to lose your respect as the man, husband and father of the home. The word of God says be joyful, be patient, be faithful in prayers and practice hospitality. As a spiritual leader of your home and the head of your family, you must have a good understanding of how God works and leads otherwise you may be frustrated and driven by the devil to commit suicide. Do you have an obstacle right in front of you which seems bigger than you can imagine? Rejoice! The best time for you to rejoice in the Lord your God is when you are in your deepest pit of trials. It is not the time for you to complain or murmur against God. It is in times like this that you lift up your holy hands and continually give God thanks, especially when you have done all that God demands from you. One of the ways to understand the greatness of God in your most difficult situations is through thanksgiving and praise. Praising and thanking God when it didn’t make sense is as powerful as the formation of a child in the womb. It is a spiritual weapon of warfare and the secret for coming out of every challenge you may be experiencing. When Jesus Christ had to raise His friend Lazarus from the dead after four days, He didn’t cry. He didn’t complain. He didn’t give any form of excuse. He gave thanks. Get excited in God, it is a proof of your faith in Him.
