MOSES AT THE RED SEA

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Ex.14:13-16

More Scriptures: Heb.3:3, Ps.23:1, Ezk.34:16

Let me start today’s teaching by acknowledging that one of the greatest gifts that I have received from the Lord Jesus Christ is the gift of the Person of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has manifested His Person and Power in every area of my life as an individual, in my family and in the work of the ministry. I owe Him a depth of gratitude and I want to openly declare to Him, THANK YOU.

The topic today was inspired in my spirit sometime back by the Person of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit began to teach me the importance of the encounters at the edge of the Red sea and its significance to the office of the husbandhood. Now, when Moses was sent by God to go and deliver the people of Israel, he felt the task was too big for him, just the same way you are feeling that the task of leading your wife and children is too big. Nevertheless, God stepped in and he took up the challenge and led the people of Israel out of the land of their oppressor, in the same way God has positioned you to be the head of your family so that you can lead your wife and children out of any form of satanic and human oppressions affecting their spirit, soul and body.

Moses led the people of Israel through a very long tortuous journey the same way God has commanded you to provide godly leadership for your wife and children, notwithstanding the challenges, obstacles, and discouragements. Unfortunately for him and his flock, they got to a dead end-the red sea. In front of them was the red sea, behind them was the rampaging oppressors coming in their horses and chariots. They were caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. The people were afraid and depressed, and they began to accuse their leader, the same way your wife and children would accuse you when things fail in the family kingdom. But thank God! In the midst of this confusion, Moses turned to God for a way out and God gave him an answer-to lift up the rod in his hand and stretch it in front of the red sea. To the glory of God, the sea parted, and the flock walked on dry ground to safety.

You are the Moses in your family. God has placed the rod-the word of God- in your mouth and hands. Just as Moses lifted the rod and brought deliverance for his flock is the same way God expects you to engage the word of God for the deliverance of your wife and children. You must take responsibility to seek the face of God as the spiritual leader over your flock. That is your heritage as a good and godly husband.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, by Your Spirit, fill me with the Spirit of boldness and the ability to interpret Your instructions
  • Father, by the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, break every stronghold of discouragement and fear in my life.
  • Father, by the force of Your Spirit, empower me to be in command of my family kingdom with results to show.

FAITH CONFESSION

I look up to God and His words for divine help to lead my wife and children through the challenges of life because that is my heritage as a good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
