Main Scriptures: 2Cor.5:17-18
More Scriptures: Rom.10:10, Rom.8:9, Eph.2:15
One of the fiercest attacks satan launches against the person of the husbandman is condemnation and guilt. And this cuts across every divide of the office of the husbandhood. Satan reminds you how badly you behaved and how incompetent you have been as a husband and leader. He sends you pictures of a hopeless past and an unsure future. And when you put all these together, you begin to consider if it is worth the sacrifice to become a good and godly husband. But I want to assure you that God has not condemned you and He does not have the capacity to. He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for you and me, so that you and I can be free from condemnation.
In 2Cor.5:17-18, the word of God says, therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hat reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. As a husband, were there sins you committed in the past that the devil keeps reminding you today? Are you weighed down with past guilt and regrets? Maybe you had encouraged your lady friend whom you got pregnant to abort the pregnancy . Perhaps, you had stolen from your employer what did not belong to you. You may have lied to your wife about who you really are. You may have slept with a prostitute and felt worthless, thereafter. Whatever mistakes you may have committed in the past that nobody knew about and yet satan keeps reminding you of, God has pardoned you of them all. Satan, the accuser doesn’t have the final say. Jesus has and He has provided for you a better platform.
But for you to enjoy the fullness of His provision for your freedom from regrets and guilt, you must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal savior. The word of God says that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. So, when you give your life to Him, you are absorbed into His very life and He becomes the Lord (owner) of your life. Secondly, you must walk in the consciousness that you are free from condemnation (Rom.8:1). In Rom.10:10, the Scripture says that with the heart man believeth and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. You must continue to declare your freedom tirelessly and unwaveringly. Thirdly, you must war with the blood of Jesus Christ by pleading the blood over your conscience. You can get it right again. Jesus loves you!
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, by Your Spirit, reveal to me the power and personality of Your Son Jesus and let it overshadow my guilt.
- Father, by Your Spirit, take me deeper into Your love for me and let it cover the multitude of my failures.
- Father, by the blood of Jesus Christ, break the power of sin and ungodliness in my life and let my life bring You glory.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am a new man in Christ Jesus, no more condemnation for me and I walk to fulfill my assignment as a good and godly husbandman to my wife and children in Jesus name. Amen.
