YOUR PROSPERITY, YOUR PURPOSE

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Gen.17:1-3

More Scriptures: Eph.5:25, Gen.18:19, 1 Sam.3:13

Sometime back, after dropping off the children at home after school and heading back to work, the Holy Spirit began to teach me on the relationship between assignment and prosperity. He opened my heart to understand that the prosperity of the husband is tied to how well he is able to discharge his God ordained assignment to his wife and children. So, let me begin by saying that as a husband, God has given you assignments to execute to your wife and children. But you must understand that your great rewards and your long-awaited prosperity starts and ends with how you effectively and efficiently discharge the tasks. For instance, as a husband, you have an assignment to your wife, and it is found in Eph.5:25-28.

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it, that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing but that it should be holy and without blemish (Eph.5:25-27). You have the task to sanctify and cleanse your wife from all those wrong attitudes you don’t like to see in her. And you do that by applying the word of God to those areas where she needs cleansing. So, you don’t have any excuse to give about your wife being unsanctified and unclean. You also have an assignment to your children because they are seeds from your loin. And ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Eph.6:4). All through Scriptures, God has always held fathers accountable for the success or failure of their children (Gen.18:19, 1Sam.2:22-25, 1Sam.8:1-7, 1Sam.3:13). You must understand that the principal agent of influence in the lives of your children is you and not your wife, neither is it your parents.

Now, how will your assignments determine your prosperity? It is found in 1Pet.3:7. Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, THAT YOUR PRAYERS BE NOT HINDERED. (1Pet.3:7). Nothing is as bad as not having your prayers answered because it is not the will of God for you (3Jn:2). And there is nothing as joyful as having your prayers answered. Therefore, get committed to the assignment and enjoy answered prayers without struggle and victory without a fight.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to execute all my assignments faithfully and diligently.
  • Father, by the blood of Jesus Christ, deliver me from the power of fear and the tradition of men.
  • Father, by Your Spirit, guide me continually in Your word for the good of my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am overwhelmed by the spirit of diligence and is working inside of me and by it I discharge my assignments effectively and efficiently to my wife and children as a good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
