THE JESUS’S KIND OF LEADERSHIP

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Matt.20:25-28

More Scriptures: Lk.12:43, 1Cor.9:19, Col.4:12

You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many (Matt.20:25-28)

Let me begin by stating this truth about leadership and the type that God wants you and I to deploy as we lead our sheep. There is the leadership system of the world and there is the leadership system of the kingdom of God. The leadership system of the world focuses on top to bottom approach but that of the kingdom of God is bottom to top. While the leadership system of the world hinges everything on the led, God’s kind of leadership demands that the leader upholds everyone and everything. The earthly leader wants to be served while godly leaders want to serve. That is the message Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, tries to communicate to you and I. He said, that if we want to be first in our sheepfold, we should consider less of ourselves and serve our sheep passionately and faithfully.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill my heart with the spirit of servanthood.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me how to serve You and my wife and children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from ungodly relationships and influences.

 FAITH CONFESSION

I walk and operate God’s kind of leadership as the godly man, husband and father because that is what makes me the good and godly shepherd to my wife and children in Jesus Name. Amen.
