Main Scripture: Gen.2:14-18
More Scriptures: 1Tim.3:1, Matt.19:5, Ecc.4:12
I perceive in my spirit that there is a husbandman reading this devotional and is complaining bitterly he made a mistake getting married. He has concluded that it was better to remain single than ever being married. And sadly, he is already thinking of opting out of his marriage. If you are that person, the Holy Spirit is talking TO YOU to wait to hear what God is about to tell you. YOU ARE NOT A MISTAKE AND NEVER A MISTAKE BEING MARRIED TO YOUR WIFE. According to Scriptures, being a husband is doing the will of God. It is not good for man to be alone, let us make him a helpmeet (Gen.2:18). And in Matt.19:5, the word of God says for this cause shall a man leave father and mother and shall cleave to his wife and the twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder. It doesn’t matter what people may say or think about your failures as a husband, there is hope for you and you did not make a mistake marrying your wife.
I want to encourage you to know that God has you well covered and His plans for your relationship with your wife and children are good and not evil to bring you and your sheep to a glorious future. In fact, that you married your wife, you have done well because that relationship provides you with the highest platform to exercise your God-given leadership qualities (1Tim.3:1). You must never see your wife as the reason why you are where you are. You must never conclude that if not that you were married your life would have been better. Never! As a husband, you can still achieve much more even with your wife as your significant better half. You can win more battles with your wife than you would if you were alone. Satan wants you to be alone so that he can keep you in chains and perpetual limitation. Jesus speaking said that if the two of you shall agree as touching anything on earth, it shall be done for you (Matt.18:19). That is the level and depth of relevance satan, your adversary doesn’t want you to get to. Now, I want every husband to please read these verses of Scriptures loud and clear. There is one alone, and there is not a second, yea he hath neither child nor brother, yet is there no end of all his labour, neither is his eye satisfied with riches, neither saith he, for whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour. If one prevail against him, two shall withstand him and a three-fold cord is not quickly broken (Ecc.4:8,9,12).
