CHANGE FROM THE INSIDE (1)

Many shepherds want to see transformation in their lives. They have knowledge of how the godly husbandman should live his life. They are quick to tell you that they know what it takes to become the good and godly man, husband and father. They tell you their struggles at becoming the godly shepherd. They might even tell the effort they have made to change. But they forget one truth. And that truth is that “every genuine transformation begins with a choice to change”.

Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus MINDED and if anything, ye be otherwise MINDED, and God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us MIND the same thing (Philippians 3:15-16)

The hallmark of your position as the head of the family is your decision to improve yourself consistently in the way you relate with your wife, children and other people. You have to make that choice from your inner man before you live it out on your outer man. You must settle your change in your mind and mean every commitment. This is the starting point of your desire to change and become the godly shepherd to your sheep. For we all with unveiled face beholding us as in a mirror the glory of God, we are changed from glory to glory…….(2Cor.3:18). The life you live today ought to be an improvement over past. That is God’s plan for you.

As the head of the family, you cannot continue to live your life carelessly and outside of God’s will and expect to make a positive impact in the lives of your wife and children. Those negative and ungodly things that you do to your wife and children and think it doesn’t matter must stop, if you want peace to reign in your family and attract rewards from the Lord. You must not take your sheep for granted. You must not also abuse your privilege as the shepherd over the sheep of God in your custody. You must grow up and decide in your heart and mean it with the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, to change. Those negative attitude you display to your sheep must stop; those ungodly lifestyles you are engaged in, must also stop. You cannot continue to live your life below the standard God has set for you. You are a king. You are a joint heir with Christ. You have power with God. You are more than a conqueror in Christ. God has positioned you as the head of the family to oversee your wife and children by your godly conduct. Don’t abuse the privilege. If He has placed you as the head of the family, it is because He considered you a responsible leader ready and prepared to bring transformation into your life and the lives of your wife and children.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every spirit of corruption and sin.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to make the changes You would require in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me a heart to remain meek and be willing to change.

FAITH CONFESSION

I have dealt with my inner man with the word of God so that my outward man can be like Christ to my sheep and the marketplace of life because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
