There are so many teachings on the family government structure that are misleading. Some are taught from the perspective of tradition and culture. Others are taught from personal experiences. The combination of these perspectives has made most of the husbandmen to lose their rightful place in their sheepfold, thereby leading to dislocation and crashing of so many sheepfolds. But I want to share with you God’s original plan for you and I as the head and spiritual leaders in our sheepfolds. I pray in the name of Jesus that you and I will take our rightful place as the godly men, husbands and fathers and be a blessing to our sheep, bringing glory to God our Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
“And he called them unto him and said unto them in parables, how can satan cast out satan? And if a KINGDOM be divided against itself, that KINGDOM cannot stand. And if a HOUSE be divided against itself, that HOUSE cannot stand. And if satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. NO MAN CAN ENTER INTO A STRONG MAN’S HOUSE, AND SPOIL HIS GOODS, EXCEPT HE WILL FIRST BIND THE STRONG MAN, AND THEM HE WILL SPOIL HIS HOUSE (Mk.3:23-27).
From the Scriptures above, particularly the 27th verse, you will discover that as the head of the family, you are the strong man of your home. That is God’s original plan for you. He did not hand over the garden to your wife, children, pastor or relative. He handed the family government to you. And Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it (Gen.2:15). You are the custodian of the heritage of God-your wife, children and home. And no intruder has the right to enter your house, except you permit it. As the head of the family, you have been called unto greater responsibilities- to keep and secure your wife and children against the devil, sin and the world. God has entrusted into your hands the lives of your wife and children. If anything happens to them, God will hold you accountable, just the same way he held the first husband, Adam, accountable for the failure of his wife and family in Gen.3:9. Sadly, husbands have left their gates wide opened for the enemy to come through and that has accounted for the increasing cases of wayward and irresponsible families around the world today, particularly Christian families. Many shepherds cannot explain what has happened to their sheep. You must understand that it is your covenant assignment and not another person’s to keep the gate shut against the torrent of evil. If you don’t wake up to keep watch over your gates, you will sooner than later realize that your wife and children have turned into an uncontrollable element that may cause you pains and heart ache in the future. Now, is the time to keep your family fold secured.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, drive out every intruder that have gained access into my sheep and sheepfold.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to take responsibility of protecting, recovering and restoring my sheep and sheepfold.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the traditions and philosophies of men.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am the strong man of my sheepfold and I guard my sheep and sheepfold against any intruder because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
