On Sunday while in fellowship with other brethren in church, the Person of the Holy Spirit began to instruct me on what to teach every husbandman, including me. And He spoke expressly that the essence is to build the capacity of the shepherd from the inside. My prayer is that the instructions, admonition, and correction that the Person of the Holy Spirit would be communicating to us would make all the changes expected of us so that we can be fit and proper to be called the good and godly man, husband and father.
The will of God for you is to live the fullness of your office as the godly man, husband and father. God wants to work with you, for you and through you. He chose you as the head of your family so that you can represent Him truthfully to your wife and children. God did not give you a wife and children to reduce or destroy you. He gave them to you for your growth and enjoyment. That is why the Scripture tells us this. I know that the thoughts that I have towards you. They are the thoughts of peace and not evil and to give you and expected end (Jer.29:11). The word of God also says of Christ to you that He came that you may have life and have it more abundantly (Jn.10:10). But for you to live the fullness of your glorious office, you need to build your inner man, that is your capacity.
Your inner man is the real man. He influences what the outward man says or does. And that is why David, the husband of Abigail, said to his inner man, why are your disquieted oh my soul……..(Ps.43:5). He recognized that if the capacity of his inner man is strong enough, his outer man would not be afraid of the challenges that may come his way. Remember that as the inner man thinks so shall he act on the outside. This is why you and I must give attention to and work with the Person of the Holy Spirit to help us develop the capacity of our inner man so that he can manifest himself when we are faced with spiritual, emotional, physical, financial, relational, career, and any other form of challenges, even as we lead our sheep. Let us begin with the first capacity building requirements.
Now, what is the first capacity capsule that you need? It is the wisdom capsule. Just a couple of weeks ago, I got new understanding of wisdom when my wife and I shared the challenges facing marriage relationship. She concluded and said that wisdom is the answer. She quoted from Proverbs chapter 4. This is what the Scripture says. Wisdom is the PRINCIPAL THING, therefore get wisdom……(Pro.4:7).
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the name of Jesus, deliver me from spiritual deafness and blindness.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me seeing eyes and hearing eyes.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to see Your good plans for my life, wife, children and home.
FAITH CONFESSION
I know that God has good plans for my life, wife children and home as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
