Let us take the third capsule.

Capsule 3: EVERY HUSBAND IS A SEER

And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt that he said unto Sarai, his wife….behold now I know that thou art fair woman to look upon. Therefore, it shall come to pass when the Egyptians shall see thee that they shall say, this is his wife and they will kill me but they will save thee. And it came to pass that when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman (Sarai) that she was very fair (Gen.12, 11,12,14)

If you study this Scripture carefully, you will notice some interesting lessons that will help you as the shepherd over your sheep. Abram, the husband of Sarai, had an insight into what the Egyptians were likely to do to him. He shared it with his wife. And that helped both himself and his wife to reposition themselves for victory in their journey through the land of Egypt. To the glory of God, what he foretold the wife came to pass. But how did he get to this level where he was so spiritually sensitive to the things around him? He was an obedient servant to God. Now, the Lord had said unto Abram, get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee. And I will make thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed. So, ABRAM DEPARTED AS THE LORD HAD SPOKEN UNTO HIM ……… (Gen.12:1-4)

As the spiritual leader in your home, you have a responsibility to see ahead of your wife and children, which gives you the ability to provide godly leadership to them. You are to have spiritual understanding of the will of God from His word and by it influence the conduct of your sheep. This means you must develop a deep and intense relationship with the person of the Holy Spirit to the extent that He shows you things to come and how to go about leading your wife and children. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all truth, for he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak, and HE WILL SHOW YOU THINGS TO COME (Jn.16:13). You don’t have to gamble with the destinies of your wife and children. You can see ahead by the Spirit of God in helping them choose the school to go, where to live, where to invest their resources, who to relate with, and so much more. That is what makes you a seer.

So, what happens when you develop your capacity and operate as a prophet unto your wife and children? Firstly, your sheep respect and honour you just the same way Sarah called her husband lord. Secondly, you become a critical and an important factor in the lives of your wife and children, as they will look to you for guidance. You become the first person they will talk to and a dependable force for their success in life.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus and by Your Spirit, I need more of You in my life, for I am thirsty for You.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me hearing ears and seeing eyes that I will hear when You speak and see when You show me things to come.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me and my wife and children to do Your will.

 FAITH CONFESSION

I partner with the Person and power of the Holy Spirit to show me things to come for the good of my wife, children and sheepfold because that is what makes the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
