HE PAID THE PRICE, GET THE PRIZE

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Is.41:10-21

More Scriptures: Rom.10:10, 2Pet.2:6, Jn.3:5

In the early hours of Wednesday, the 12th of April, 2017, I was watching a Christian programme, when suddenly, the Person of the Holy Spirit, said these words to me, “Tell the husband that IT IS FINISHED with every stagnation”. I believe that this word of assurance for the husbandman reading this devotional today is to help him start a new life of success and triumph because Jesus Christ paid the price on the Cross of Calvary and declared, “IT IS FINISHED”.

The price for you to enjoy your wife and children and live a fulfilled life as the good and godly husbandman has been paid for by Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman. Jesus’s death on the Cross finished with every root of bitterness and unforgiveness you may have with your wife and children or any other person. It is finished with envy and distrust you have against your wife and children. The death of Jesus, the Head of the husbandman, is to restore excellence and harmony to your relationships, family life, finances, character and attitude. Don’t remain in that failing and falling state, move on and begin again because victory is in sight for you.

But for you to enjoy the fullness of the finished work of Jesus as the godly husbandman, shepherd, priest, prophet and pastor, you must have a relationship with Him. In Jn.3:5, the word of God tells us that except a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (Jn.3:5). Having Jesus in you is what activates your access to the power that would make you reign in life as the good and godly man, husband and father. Secondly, you must be willing and committed to accept the demands of your headship. That is, as the head, you are representing Jesus in your family kingdom. So, whatever Jesus did and lived for is what must reflect in your life for your wife and children and the world to see. Once you accept this fact wholly and truthfully, you will not hold back any good things from your wife and children. You will also work to build and leave behind a good name. The Scripture tells us that a good name is better than silver or gold. Thirdly, you must continue to declare God’s plan for your life and the lives of your wife and children irrespective of what is happening in and around you. In Rom.10:10, the word of God tells us that with the heart man believeth and with thy mouth confession is made unto salvation (Rom.10:10).

Do not allow satan, sin and the world tell you that it is over with your life, your relationship with your wife and children and your endeavour. Get hold of what Jesus Christ did for you on the Cross, run with the joy of a great day and future for your life and the lives of your wife and children.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the spirit of fear and hopelessness.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill me with the Spirit of faith and boldness.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live a purposeful and victorious life.

 FAITH CONFESSION

I am not giving up on God’s plan for my life and sheepfold but I take hold of the prize of the Finished work of Calvary because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
