Main Scriptures: Ps.118:23-24

As the good and godly husbandman over your wife and children, one of the greatest challenges you are confronted with when you wake up in the morning is what to do with your wife and children. A lot of the times, many do not know how to respond to their sheep. Many more struggle between seeking to do good or evil to their sheep. But the word of God provides us the answer. For this is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it (Ps.118:24).
Did you go to bed sad and confused last night? Did you go to sleep unhappy with your life and the direction it is headed? Did you go to bed with anger against your wife and children? Whatever negatives you slept with, discountenance it today. Today is a new day. The Lord made this day so that you can be glad and joyful. You must make every day count positively in the lives of your wife and children. You must wake up with new ways of doing things right for the benefit of your life, wife and children. That is who you are and that is what God has ordained you to be.
It is for this purpose that I shall be sharing with you some critical commitments you must make to God, your wife and children, every day you wake up.
So, what should be my commitment to my wife and children every day that God empowers me to see? You must be committed to choose and display the right attitudes to your wife and children as well as others, regardless of who they are and what they may have done against you (Rom.12:21, Philp.2:3-8). Secondly, you must be committed and be determined to act on important priorities for your life and the lives of your wife and children (Eph.5:15-17). As the good shepherd there will be a lot of things and issues that would be contending for your attention and time. If you do not know how to prioritize your day, you may end up spending your time and energies on those things that will not add value to your life and that of your wife and children. Thirdly, you must be committed to seek to know and follow healthy guidelines (1Cor.6:19-20). This requires you to seek knowledge about what food is healthy for you and for your wife and children. It has been said that we are what we eat. You must eat healthy so that you can stay healthy for the sake of yourself and your wife and children. Fourthly, you must be committed to communicate with and care for your wife and children, even if they have just offended you the night before (1Tim.5:8). Remember that the Word of God commands us not to allow the sun to go down on our anger. No matter what your wife and children may have done that hurts you, you must let them know how unhappy you are but not overcome with your good attitudes (Rom.12:21).
