Main Scriptures: Ps.71:15-18

Yesterday, by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, we understand as good and godly husbandmen that we have the responsibility to communicate the vision of God for our lives to our wives. This is so important because when we are able to share the vision with our wives, it helps to bring them to almost the same level of understanding and grace we have and enjoy. And this will help us fulfill God’s divine plan for our lives, family and endeavours.
Today, let us consider the second important thing you must communicate with your wife. It is your victories and testimonies. Your testimonies and victories are all the outcomes of the help of God in your life. And sharing them with your wife inspires confidence, hope, faith and courage in her. It further helps her to have a better understanding of your sacrifices, commitments and spiritual investments that may not have been seen by men but God only.
My mouth shall show forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day, for I know not the numbers thereof. I will go in the strength of the Lord God. I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only. O God, thou hast taught me from my youth and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. (Ps.71:15-17).
As the head of the family, and the shepherd over the sheep of God, it is possible that your wife may not understand or experience the pressure you come under in your quest to fulfill your covenant responsibilities as the good and godly man, husband and father. And it is this gap that satan uses to cause tension between you and your wife by creating the impression that your wife does not appreciate all your efforts. But if you are able to communicate your testimonies, share the challenges you encountered, then she will not only honour and respect you and appreciate all that you do, she will privately pray for you.
Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, not of me his prisoner, but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God (2Tim.1:8). You must never be ashamed to share with your wife and children the good acts of God in your life.
As a shepherd, I make it a duty to share my victories with my wife and children. When I am teaching or discussing the issues of life with my sheep, I help them to understand how great God is from the word of God and tell them how God helped me. And I observed that they get excited. Sometimes, when they speak among themselves, they make reference to the testimonies I shared with them. God wants you to reflect His good acts in your life to your wife and children. God wants you to tell your wife and children how powerful He is to you because as it is written, behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given to me are for signs and for wonders…. (Is.8:18).
