STAND FAST IN LIBERTY

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Gal.5:1

More Scriptures: Jos.24:15, Jn.8:36, 2Cor.5:17

One of the biggest challenges facing the husbandmen is unsteadiness which leads to regrets. They are so easily distracted from their core mandate and as a result they are unable to function maximally as the good and godly man, husband and father. This is why I want to share with you the word of God from Galatians chapter 5.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (Gal.5:1). As the good and godly husbandman, you are not under the yoke of satan, sin and the world. You are also not under any curse of the law because Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the law (Gal.3:13). This is to help you appreciate your place in Christ Jesus and escape living in regrets. Many husbandmen wished they could turn the hand of the clock and rework their lives as men, husbands and fathers. Many wished they had acted like the good and godly husbandmen to their wife and children and many more wished they had loved their sheep more, provided for them more, cared for and be kind to them more, inspire them more and be the godly example that God wanted them to be to their sheep.

But how do I overcome the trap of regret that keeps me bond and unable to function like the good and godly husbandman? The first is to trust the Lord and His word with the whole of your heart. If you don’t trust God and His word, you will find it very difficult to exercise your freedom in Jesus Christ. The freedom that empowers you to love your wife as Christ has loved the church and gave Himself to it (Eph.5:25). The freedom that empowers you to nurture your children in the way and admonition of the Lord (Eph.6:4). The freedom that makes you want to please the Lord Jesus Christ even when it is not convenient. Secondly, you must be bold and courageous to stand up and walk in the truth of God’s commandments (Jos.1:6-8). If you do not have boldness, you can easily concede to regrets. Thirdly, you must continually give attention to the study and meditation of God’s word. The more of God’s word you know and have stored and meditated in your hearts by the help of the Holy Spirit, the more you gain help from God to be free. Fourthly, you must engage the power and force of prayers and fasting. In Mark chapter 9 and verse 29, the Scripture says this. This kind goeth not forth except by prayer and fasting. (Mk.9:29). The prayer and fasting altar is the platform for your empowerment to be free from regrets.

And as you stand in liberty of what God wants you to do as the good and godly husbandman, you will be blessed in all things and your life becomes an express image of the love of Christ to your wife and children and the marketplace of life.
