AND JESUS CHRIST STOOD STILL FOR HIM

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Mk.10:46-52

More Scriptures: Jn.3:16, Ps.51:10, 1Jn.4:19

Are you the godly husbandman and you reading today’s devotional and it seems as though you are trapped in sin and its consequences? Do you seem to be afflicted with pain and discomfort because of your past mistakes? Are you losing hope and confidence in yourself and in your relationship with God, your Father? Perhaps, you cannot explain why you are going through the rough times in your life? Whatever may be the challenge, Jesus Christ is standing still for you. He has the answer to your questions and He is ready to bail you out of that hole of pain, limitation, distress and hopelessness.

But how will Jesus stand still for me? He will stand still for you when you cry for mercy.

And they came to Jericho and as He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus , the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, HE BEGAN TO CRY OUT, AND SAY, JESUS, THOU SON OF DAVID, HAVE MERCY ON ME. And many charged him that he should hold his peace BUT HE CRIED THE MORE A GREAT DEAL, THOU SON OF DAVID HAVE MERCY ON ME. And Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called (Mk.10:46-49).

Jesus Christ stood still for the cry of mercy of Bartimaeus, who needed help. Jesus Christ asked that he should be called. And when he appeared before Jesus Christ, He said these words to him, “go thy way, thy faith hath made thee whole and immediately he received his sight…..” (Mk.10:52). If there is one prayer that your heavenly Father will be eager to answer, it is the prayer of mercy. So, stop everything you may be doing now and cry for mercy unto God.

But why will Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman stand still for me? He will stand still for you because He loves you. The Scripture tells us that “He first loved us…(1Jn.4:19)”. God loves you unconditionally and always desires to have an uninterrupted fellowship with you. And so, He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for you and me, so that we can be restored to the sweet fellowship He once had with man in the Garden of Eden (Gen.3:8a, Jn.3:16).

Don’t conclude that there is no hope for you. Don’t give up on your situation. Jesus Christ wants you back. He wants to restore you. You have the chance to cry to Him like Bartimaeus did, “Jesus Christ, thou Son of Davis, have mercy on me….” And watch your life take a positive leap for the good of your life, wife and children.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

·        Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me of my sins, mistakes and errors.

FAITH CONFESSION

I repent of my sins, mistakes and errors and cry for the mercy of God to be restored as the good and godly husbandman to my wife and children in Jesus name. Amen.
