ANOINTED TO GUARD

Spread the love

Main Scripture: Mk.3:23-27

More scriptures: Gen.14:13-16, 2Sam.30:19, 2Kg.13:25

Let us start by establishing some biblical truths about the husbandman. The first is that the husbandman is a shepherd. Secondly, the husbandman is the gatekeeper to his family fold. Thirdly, the husbandman is called by God to keep watch over his wife, children and sheepfold (family). And if he must fulfill his mandate of the good and godly husbandman, he needs the empowerment of the Holy Ghost.

In the natural, the gateman keeps watch over the house. He ensures that no intruder or uninvited visitor gains access into the house. He does everything to protect the house and occupants. And interestingly, the gate man stays outside the main building, so he is always the first person any visitor will see before seeing the occupants of the building. This is what God intends for you as the good and godly husbandman.

When He created the first husbandman, Adam, He put him in the Garden of Eden (family) and commanded him to dress and keep it (Gen.2:15).  This meant that he was to superintend over his family kingdom and to ensure that no stranger or intruder gained access into the garden. That is God’s will for you. God wants you to stand at the gate of your family kingdom and stop satan, sin and the world from gaining access into the your home and the lives of your wife and children.

As the gateman of your home, no negative or satanic influences are permitted to enter your family. There is an anointing that comes with your office as the husbandman. It is the gateman’s anointing. The anointing also ensures that the devil is kept at bay in all areas of your family kingdom. The anointing also destroys every negative influence, working disobedience in the lives of your wife and children. As the head of the family, you must be vigilant, sensitive, diligent and confident if you must make your gateman’s anointing to work. Every gateman that sleeps on duty is inviting trouble. When he sleeps and he is careless, the intruders will just crawl into the house, hurt those he is called to guard and in most cases kill the occupants (Jn.10:10). Neither the gateman nor the people are safe from the hurt of the intruders if the gateman lets down his guard on duty.

To enhance the anointing, you must be righteous and holy. Righteousness is equated with light (Matt.5:16). And because evil influences are dark and they are the opposite of light, they must stop at sighting you at the gate. If you live in sin and carnality, you have opened the gate for just anything to come in. Secondly, you must be filled with the knowledge of God and walk in the Spirit. You must also be faith-filled (Heb.11:1-3).

You’re the gateman of your family. Stop the evil at the gate.
