FIND AND SPEAK THE LOVE LANGUAGE

Spread the love

Main Scripture: Song of Solomon 2: 15

More scriptures: John 13:4-10, Ss.2:13, 1Cor.13:4

Yesterday, by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, we understood that our words are powerful. Our words spoken in the direction of our sheep can either make them or break them. And our sheep becomes to us what we call them. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that you and I shall live up to our calling as the good and godly husbandmen. Amen.

Some time ago, I attended a marriage seminar. The man of God expounded great truths about God’s will for marriage and said that every woman has a love language. The speaker also challenged every husband, whose responsibility it is to love his wife, to find out his wife’s love language. The man of God also told us that if any husband will understand the love language of his wife, he is on his way to stimulating total and genuine loyalty and submission from his wife.  He said the love language of every wife is different and do not necessary has to be very big. He said some wife’s love language is for her husband to help out at home. While others may be a little gift or even a kiss before the husband leaves home. It is often said that great things come in small packages. That is true of your relationship with your wife.

Our main Scripture today details the encounter a wife was having with her husband. In verse of 5 of SS. 2, the wife said to her husband, stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples, for I am sick of love. His left hand is under my head and his right hand doth embrace me (Ss.2:5-6). This wife told her husband to please stay and comfort her because she understands that a little coldness here and a little dryness there will spoil the beauty and glory of the marriage relationship. He took the initiative.

As the good and godly husbandman, that little kisses, little assistance at home and those little helps here and there are the seeds that build and give your relationship with your wife the good smell (verse 13). It is the spice that endears you to her as her helper and a father. You must also understand that beyond being a husband, you are a father to your wife. And every father wants to assist his child to grow into a better person. Your wife is not different. Go out of your way to demonstrate God kind of love by helping her. Jesus washed the disciples’ feet. He stooped so low as to make them clean. If Jesus Christ did it, you can. Helping in those little areas at home or around the house does not reduce your prestige; rather it enhances your personality as the good and godly man, husband and father to your wife and children.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

•           Father, in the Name of Jesus, and by Your Spirit reveal to me my wife’s love language.

•           Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the power of pride and arrogance

•           Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill my heart with the spirit of servanthood and let me serve the interest of my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I search for and speak the love language of my wife as revealed to me by the Holy Spirit because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
