MATCH WORDS WITH ACTION

Spread the love

Scripture: 2Cor.7:11

More scriptures: Gal.5:21, Acts 1:1, Matt.5:14

I want today’s teaching to challenge you and help you to look inwards and examine yourself before accusing your wife, children and any other person. I want you to step back and consider your ways to see if your words correspond with your action-what you do and how you respond to your wife and children. You must understand that the natural husbandman always tends to blame everybody but not himself. But the matured husbandman takes personal responsibilities for the change he desires by ensuring that he corrects his ways.

As the good and godly husbandman and leader of your family, a lot of the challenges that you are facing at the home front may not be unconnected with the fact that though you profess to be a Christian, yet your conduct, values and decisions do not agree with the word of God-your life is contrary to what you teach and your heart is filled with hate and bitterness for your wife, children and those around you. The Scripture says, the former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach (Acts 1:1). Jesus, the perfect example of the good and godly husband, taught what He did. He lived by the examples of His words. He matched his words with action. He lived and taught love.

As the good shepherd, you cannot hold bitterness and malice in your heart and yet claim to teach and profess love to your wife and children. You cannot hold unforgiveness in your heart against your sheep and teach compassion and forgiveness. So, if what you teach is not what you do, you need to look inward and begin to cleanse yourself. It is time to purge yourself of every form of filthiness as contained in Galatians chapter 5 and verses 20 to 22- adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like, of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God (Gal.5:18-21).

God wants you to live His Person in your home. God wants you to be like Him to your wife, children and in the market place of life. That is what makes you the good and godly husbandman (Gen.17:1-3). He has given you the power to be the example of the godly man, husband and father (Lk.10:19). Take the imitative to clean your heart first. Deal with those filthiness in you and become all that God has made you to be to your wife and children.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

•           Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be sincere and truthful to myself.

•           Father, in the Name of Jesus, reveal who I really am and help me to make adjustment

•           Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the power of pride and a haughty spirit.

FAITH CONFESSION

I have the mind of Christ and live His life for my wife, children and all to see and glorify God because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
