EXERCISE YOUR PROPHETIC OFFICE

My prayer for you as you read today’s devotional is that you will exercise your prophetic office in the affairs of your home, and in the lives of your wife and children. This is because the prophetic office is one of the functions of the husbandhood that the husbandman has neglected.

This is what the word of God says about your position as the head of your wife. Now therefore restore the man (husband) his wife, FOR HE IS A PROPHET and he shall pray for thee and thou shalt live. (Gen.20:7). As the head of the home, you are both a husband and a prophet. Your position as the husbandman confers on you the oil of a prophet. In Gen.20:7, the king took the wife of Abraham. The king believed he could do whatever he liked but he did not realize that there is a bigger King than he. So, God appeared to him and commanded him to return Sarah to her husband, Abraham. To help the king understood whose wife he took, God said, restore the man his because HE IS A PROPHET. God called Him a prophet. And to prove that the husbandman, Abraham was a prophet, he prayed for the healing and restoration of Abimelech’s wife. So Abraham prayed unto God and God healed Abimelech, and his wife and his maidservants, and they bare children (Gen.20:7).

As a prophet in your home, no one has the right to steal from you the health, peace, joy, strength, emotion, physical agility of your wife and children. Not satan, not sin and not the world. God has empowered you to put a stop to the operations of hell against your wife and children. You don’t have to have a church to become a prophet. You don’t have to be ordained by the church council for you to become a prophet. Your position as the head of the family confers on you the prophetic grace. This means you can function powerfully as a prophet over your wife and children. As a prophet, you can pray for your sick (emotional, physical or spiritual) wife or child and they will recover. Abraham prayed for the king and his household and the yoke of barrenness was destroyed. You can also rescue your wife and children from those ungodly habits through the prophetic grace that is working in your life as the head of the home.

However, for you to operate in this glorious office, you must be conscious of the truth that you are a prophet and act like one. You must also believe (faith) that you are a prophet (Heb.11:33). Therefore, get on the prophetic office of your position as the head of your home and enjoy the blessings of the office.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy every attempt of hell to make me ignore the prophetic anointing in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to function maximally as a prophet over my wife and children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, confirm every word that proceeds out of my mouth in the direction of my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

God has called me a prophet and that’s who I am and I operate fully in the office for the good of my wife and children in Jesus name. Amen.
