Main Scriptures: Luke 17:5-6
More Scriptures: Heb.11:2, Is.49:17, Ps.23:1
By the grace of God, in the next few days, we shall be looking intensely at the subject of faith. This is what the Person of the Holy Spirit has laid in my heart to share with you. I pray that the power behind His word shall find practical expression in your life in Jesus name, amen.
As the head of the family and the shepherd over your wife and children, you need faith in God and His word to lead, provide, protect, instruct and triumph over the works of satan, sin and the world. And as your responsibility increases as the good and godly husbandman so you require a higher level of faith.
Let us consider the Scripture in Luke chapter 17.
And the apostles said unto the Lord, increase our faith. and the Lord said, if ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamore tree, be thou plucked up by the root and be thou planted in the sea, and it should obey you (Lk.17:5-6).
In our main text today, you will discover that the apostles of Jesus had been with Jesus. They had seen Jesus perform the unbelievable-heal the sick, lame, deaf, dumb, and raised the dead. But the apostles couldn’t do as much as Jesus did. So, when they had the opportunity, they asked Jesus, increase our faith. A lot of the times as husbandmen and heads of our families, we fail to realize that at every turn in our leadership function, we need new levels of faith not just to rule but to reign. At every turn or phase of your family life, you need to increase your faith in God, derived from your deep understanding of Him and His word because every phase comes with its own challenges that would require a commensurate measure of faith to handle. What this places on you as demanded from Scripture is for you to continue to develop your faith level so that you can withstand every wile of the devil.
But how do I increase my faith for a triumphant life as the good and godly husbandman? Firstly, you must keep doing what Jesus, the perfect example of the good and godly husband, did. He prayed consistently and encourages you and I to do same (Lk.18:1). He had the habit of withdrawing to a quiet place to pray. As the head of your family, you must not allow the pursuits of life, the crowd of people, the noise around you, not even your pressing needs to choke your prayer life. In Pro.18:1, the Scripture says, through desire a man having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom. When you connect with Jesus Christ and His word in prayers, He makes you stand tall in victory.

- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to walk in boldness and confidence.
FAITH CONFESSION
I tarry in God’s presence so that I can be empowered to become all of God on the earth, and to my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
