DEVELOPING YOUR FAITH IN GOD AND HIS WORD (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Luke 17:5-6

More Scriptures: Heb.11:2, Is.49:17, Ps.23:1

Yesterday, we looked at one of the ways to increase our faith as leaders in our homes. That is through the prayer altar. Today, let us consider the next demand. It is the demand of feeding your spirit man with the word of God. As the good and godly husbandman, you must understand that you are three-in-one person. You have a soul, a spirit and a body. While your body feeds on foods like rice, beans, yams and the likes, your spirit feeds on words. The more of God’s word you are able to draw from His word-the Bible into your spirit man, the greater the heights you would attain in your walk of faith.

As the good and godly leader, you must give attention to the word of God. It is the power unto salvation (Rom.1:16). The Scripture gives us the depth and importance of the word of God. In Proverbs chapter 4, the word of God says, my son, attend to my words, incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes, keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life to those that find them and health to all their flesh (Prv.4:20-22).

The Bible is the raw material you need to expand the muscles of your faith as you live your life and lead your wife and children. As you read, study and meditate on the word of God, you are providing your inner man with the right and necessary nutrients it needs to grow in faith. The Bible is not just a collection of histories and historical events, it is the mind of God in written form. It also contains the Spirit of God (And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, Ezk.2:2). The word of God also empowers every area of life where it is applied (Heb.4:10-12). No wonder the Scripture says that so shall my word be that it shall not return to me void but shall prosper withsoever it is sent.

Whatever your level of knowledge of the word of God you have today, there is still much more that you still don’t know. You must always behave like Apostle Paul, who sought to know more of Jesus. You must daily decrease so that Jesus will increase in your life. And as you begin to increase in faith, you will become a prepared leader.

In Heb.11:2, the word of God says, for by it the elders obtained good report (Heb.11:2). Every good report that you desire to see today and in the future concerning your life and the lives of your wife and children, begins with having the word of God richly dwelling in you and running with the word in faith.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, pour upon me the spirit of grace and supplication.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill my heart with supernatural faith for exploits.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to walk in boldness and confidence.

 FAITH CONFESSION

I tarry in God’s presence so that I can be empowered to become all of God on the earth, and to my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
